8. The floor

There were a few rotten patches in the original floor boards so I removed and replaced those bits and then gave the whole place a really good sand and clean. Next step was to lay down a very thin layer of insulation and underlay and then I laid the wooden click flooring down.

I decided to use this because it looked so easy to lay… this is the case but you need to do it a certain way (click it together in to long lengths and then attach the next section to that not board at a time) I learnt the hard way and had to rip it all up and start again! It was a bit of a bugger laying it around the beams that support the roof but I love the final look. It’s clean, fresh and has really brightened up the space!

Laying the flooring

I ended up choosing a wood finish “click together” lino. Which i think gives the space a clean and simple finish, it’s also very easy to keep clean and doesn’t add to much more weight to the wagon.
