7. Painting

The most satisfying step so far!

Mum, dad and I have been filling and sanding and sanding and filing for days prepping the exterior ready for painting. I’ve decided to go with a dark blue (it’s called midnight) and my gawd there are a lot of blues to choose from, I was completely boggles with the choice but think the colour I settled on will look great especially in its final setting.

It took two coats of paint in the end and has totally transformed the wagon from a slightly sad looking old thing to a new and loved home.

Next Laura (a good friend and professional sign writer) came in and painted the chamfered edges and windows in a cream shade (called heavy cream) which was the perfect finishing touch.

This is such a wonderful stage to have completed and Im now very exited to get inside and start to work on the interior.

May the transformation commence…
